SET (General) 2021: The SET (General) 2021 or SET A and SET B 2021 will be conducted by the Symbiosis International University for admissions into the Undergraduate courses in Computer Applications, Arts and Science in Liberal Arts, Economics, Hospitality and Culinary Arts, Management and Mass Communications offered by its various colleges and campuses.

The SET A and SET B is conducted for admissions into the following respectively:

  • For SSCA, SSLA,SSE,SCMC and SICSR – Symbiosis Entrance Test - A (SET A)
  • For SCMS Pune, NOIDA and Nagpur- Symbiosis Entrance Test - B (SET B)

Please Note:

  • SET A and SET B are NOT interchangeable. So, if you miss SET A and take SET B you will not be eligible for admission to, say, BA-Liberal Arts.
  • If you have applied to Institute(s) / Programme(s) falling under SET A and SET B, you will need to appear for both tests.
  • If you have not applied to any Institute(s) / Programme(s) and have only paid for SET, you will be considered for SET B.

 

The SET (General) 2021 including SET A and SET B will be conducted tentatively in the 2nd week of May 2021 and the Application for the same is expected to arrive tentatively from the 2nd week of January, 2021.

SET (GENERAL) Application Form 2021: The SET (GENERAL) Application Form 2021 will be available online tentatively from the 2nd week of January, 2021 on the SET official website: www.set-test.org.

The SET (GENERAL) Application Form 2021 can be filled by following these steps:

 

  • Visit the official admission portal of SIU: www.set-test.org 
  • Click on the registration link
  • Enter your name, mobile number, email Id, Category and preferred test city
  • Upload your recent passport size colour photograph in .jpg, .jpeg or .png format. The maximum size of the photo should not exceed more than 100kb.
  • Click on “Save and Continue” option to complete the SET (GENERAL) registration

Upon submitting the registration form of SET (GENERAL) 2021, candidates will receive an I.D. and a password which they will need every time to access their account.

Steps to Fill the SET (GENERAL) Application Form 2021:

  • Login at the SET candidate portal.
  • The application form of SET (GENERAL) 2021 will be displayed on the screen.
  • Enter your personal information such as name, parent’s name, date of birth, category and communication details.
  • Enter your educational qualification details (Class 10th and Class 12th marks, percentage, passing year and board name).
  • Select your course choice; you can select both BA LLB and BBA LLB or just one programme.
  • Check all the information to ensure that all entries are correct and complete and submit your application form for fee payment.

SET (GENERAL) Application Form 2021 - Fee payment

Select the mode of payment. The SET (GENERAL) application fee can be paid in online or offline mode. Candidates who select the online mode will be redirected to the payment gateway. The online fee payment can be done by using a credit card or debit card or by net banking option.

Candidates who select the offline mode of payment will be required to generate the e-challan. The application fee of SET (GENERAL) should be paid by using the demand draft in favor of “Symbiosis Test Secretariat” payable at Pune.

Eligibility

SET (General) Eligibility Criteria 2021: The SET (General) Eligibility Criteria 2021 is necessary for students to read before doing registration for the examination.

The Eligibility Criteria is important for any examination because even if a candidate does not fulfill a single criterion of the eligibility criteria declared for the examination then the candidate is not allowed to appear for the examination or even after appearing for the examination and clearing the same the admission through the examination stands cancelled or void.

SET (General) Eligibility Criteria 2021 for Indian:

Qualification:

  • Candidate must have passed class 12th or its equivalent from any recognized Board/University.
  • If the candidates appearing in class 12th examination are also eligible to apply.

Minimum Marks Requirement:

  • Candidate must have secured at least 50% marks in their class 10+2.
  • For SC/ST candidates, marks relaxation is 5%.

 

SET (General) Reservation Policy:

  • Scheduled Caste (SC)                             : 15%
  • Scheduled Tribes (ST)                           : 7.5%
  • Differently Abled                                   : 3%
  • Children/wards of Defence Personnel   :  5%
  • Kashmiri Migrants and Kashmiri Pandits/ Kashmiri Hindu Families (Non-Migrants) living in Kashmiri Valley       : 2 seats per programme
  • International Candidates                          : 15%

 

Eligibility Criteria for International Candidates:

Symbiosis Center for International Education (SCIE) earmarks 15% of the total intake of the respective program for international students which include, Foreign Nationals (FN), Person of Indian Origin (PIO) Card Holders, Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) Card Holders, and Non-Resident Indians (NRI)

  • Foreign National (FN): A student is eligible to apply as a Foreign National (FN) if he/she is a citizen of any country other than India and holds a foreign passport.
  • Person of Indian Origin (PIO): All the existing Persons of Indian Origin cardholders registered as such shall be deemed to be Overseas Citizens of India cardholders.
  • Overseas Citizen of India (OCI): A student is eligible to apply as OCI if he/she is granted with Overseas Citizenship of India and has an OCI card.
  • Non-Resident Indian (NRI): A student is eligible to apply as a Non-Resident Indian (NRI) if the candidate has appeared for either 10th or 10+2 (equivalent to the Indian 10th or 12th) examination outside India. It is mandatory for NRI students who have appeared for their 10th standard exam outside India and 12th in India.

SET (General) 2021 Selection Process:

SIU will conduct the two more further rounds i.e., Writing Ability Test (WAT) and Personal Interview (PI) rounds for selection of candidate. Candidates who qualifies the SET (General) Entrance Exam, only those candidates are eligible for Writing Ability Test (WAT) and Personal Interview (PI) rounds.

Personal Interaction (PI):

Personal Interaction will be conducted online over a video chat application.

Writing Ability Test (WAT):

WAT will include subjective essay questions.

Important Instruction:

  • Please ensure that your latest passport size, colour photograph is pasted on the Admit Card at the place provided for before appearing for the test (Your photograph should not be more than 3 months old)
  • Admit Card should be printed (color printouts only. B&W printouts will not be accepted) from the SET (General) website.
  • Cell phones, calculators, watch calculators, alarm clocks, digital watches with built in calculators/ memory or any electronic or smart devices are not be allowed in the test hall.
  • Candidates will not be allowed to leave the test hall till the test is completed. After submission of the test, candidate will not be allowed to re-enter the test hall.
  • Candidates are advised to locate allocated test center at least a day in advance to avoid any issue on the day of the test.
  • Travel and staying arrangements will need to be done by the candidates
  • Differently Abled/ Scheduled Caste/ Scheduled Tribes category candidates are requested to upload their relevant document (s) while registering for the SET (GENERAL)/SLAT/ SITEEE. Candidates failing to do this will be considered under the Open Category.

Admission Counselling

SET (General) Counselling Procedure 2021:  The SET (General) Counselling Procedure 2021 or the SET (General) Selection process for admissions will start after the Final Result of the SET A and SET B are declared.

 

The SET (General) Admissions will be based on the Final Merit list of candidates declared after the final selection criteria of the SET A and SET B examinations for all the respective 8 Participating colleges/campuses.

 

Selection Criteria for SET A:

Final merit list of the programme will be based on the following:

  • SET A score: Scaled down to 20
  • PI: Out of 50
  • WAT: Out of 20
  • 10th standard marks: Out of 10

 

Selection Criteria for SET B:

Final merit list of the programme will be based on the following:

  • SET B score: Scaled down to 30
  • PI: Out of 30
  • WAT: Out of 10
  • Studio Test: Out of 10
  • Academic Profile: Out of 20

 

Category-wise cut off for Merit List and Wait List will be displayed on the website of the respective institutes.

 

As per the Category-Wise cut-off and Merit List, the candidates will have to complete the admission formalities and deposit the Admission Fee to complete the admission process.

After the Merit, List candidates have completed the admission formalities and after the prescribed date if the seats are still vacant then the candidates from the wait list will be called upon and the interested candidates will have to complete the admission formalities.

After the wait List candidates have completed the admission formalities and the prescribed dates for completing the admission process is over then there will be no further rounds of counseling or seat allocation.

After the SET (General) Admission/Selection process is completed for all the courses in all the participating colleges the classes for the first year of the new session will begin in each institute as per their respective schedule.
