JIPMER Entrance Exam 2021:  The JIPMER Entrance Exam 2021 or the Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research Entrance Exam 2021 will be conducted by JIPMER for admissions into the various undergraduate and post graduate medical and allied health science courses offered at JIPMER campuses.

Here we are only covering the BSc. courses in Nursing and various other Allied Health Sciences or Paramedical courses offered at JIPMER Puducherry.

The JIPMER Entrance Exam 2021 will be conducted tentatively in the 3rd week of June 2021 and the Application for the same will be available online on its official website: www.jipmer.edu.in tentatively from the 3rd or 4th week of April, 2021.

The JIPMER Entrance Examination will be conducted online as a 90 minutes duration exam having a total of 100 Questions divided into 5 different sections.

  • Now, click on the button  “Apply on-line B.Sc./ M.Sc / MPH / PGD / PGF / PhD Courses admission”.
  • Thereafter, candidates need to fill in details like name, address, phone number, email ID, etc.
  • Then, the username and password will be generated and sent to the candidate’s number and email id.
  • Now, login with the credentials and fill application form with personal, qualification, internship, and other details.
  • Thereafter, candidates need to upload documents and choose the test city centre.
  • Now, pay the fee and submit the form.

Nationality:

Candidate should be an Indian National.

Age Limit:

  • Candidate should be at least 17 years at the time of admission or will complete the age on or before 31st December 2021.
  • No Upper Age limit.

Qualification:

  • Candidate must have passed class 12th or its equivalent from any recognized Board/University.
  • Candidate must have passed in Physics, Chemistry, Biology / Botany, Zoology and English individually.
  • Candidates those who are appearing in class 12th or its equivalent from any recognized Board/University.

Minimum Marks Requirement:

  • Candidate need to secure at least 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology / Botany & Zoology
  • For SC/ST/OBC/PwD Candidates, marks relaxation is 10%.
  • For PwD candidates in general category, marks relaxation is 5%.

Note: In B.Sc Nursing, 9 seats are horizontally reserved for male candidates and remaining 85 seats are reserved for female candidates.

For PwD candidates, 5% of the seats are reserved horizontally.

The Admit Card is an important document and must be carefully kept by the candidates as it is necessary to produce at the Exam centre while appearing for the Entrance Examination and without the same the Candidate is not allowed to enter the exam hall to appear for the entrance examination.

 

The Admit Card usually contains the details of the Exam Centre, Personal Details of the Candidate like Name and Date of Birth and other important information including the Instructions.

Important Instruction:

  • Candidates are requested to be available in their allotted exam centres 2 hours before the commencement of the exam to avoid unnecessary hustle in the last minute. They are also advised to visit the exam venue one day before the examination in order to verify its location.
  • Candidate must carry the admit card along with anyone of the following ID Card:
  • Aadhar / E-Aadhar
  • Passport
  • Voter ID
  • 12th class Board Admit card with photograph
  • Bank passbook with photograph
  • Any other valid Government identity proof with photograph
  • The candidate is solely responsible to get the signature and seal of the centre Representative / Invigilator on their Hall ticket. Failure to do so is liable for disqualification of the candidature. Before leaving the hall, a photocopy of the ID proof should be handed over to Invigilator.
  • Biometric authentication through digital device and hard copy of signature and fingerprint in attendance sheet will be taken. Cooperation of the candidates is solicited.
  • Candidates will not be permitted to take any other papers except hall ticket and valid Identity proof and photocopy of the same ID proof.
  • Cellular phones, calculators, watch, alarm clocks, digital watches with built-in-calculators / memory, ear phones and other electronic gadgets etc. will not be permitted inside the exam centres. (NO arrangements will be made by the duty staff for safe keeping and returning the above gadgets, if brought). Candidates are solely responsible for the safe keeping of their belongings.
  • In case any candidate is caught or found to use any unfair means his/her candidature shall be liable for summary disqualification for this exam and for subsequent exams in the coming years.
  • Use of unfair means / impersonation will lead to summary cancellation of selection / admission.
  • JIPMER reserves the right to reschedule the date / time of the examination, depending upon local conditions.
  • Candidates taking the Entrance Examination will be subjected to thorough frisking before being allowed into the hall.
  • Biometric iris scanning and image capture will be done for every candidate on the day of the Entrance examination inside the examination hall by authorized personnel.
  • The candidate must show, on demand, the hall ticket for admission in the examination hall. A candidate who does not produce the hall ticket issued by the JIPMER will not be admitted to the Examination Hall under any circumstances, by the Center Superintendent.
  • During the examination, the invigilator will check hall tickets of the candidates to satisfy himself / herself about the identity of each candidate.
  • Candidates are advised to check the seating plan that will be displayed outside the halls and identify the room / lab allotted as per their Hall Ticket number.
  • Candidates will not be permitted to leave the exam hall until the exam is over, except on account of acute health-related issues.
  • Smoking in the Examination Hall is strictly prohibited.
  • Tea, coffee, cold drinks or food & snacks are NOT allowed in the Examination Halls.
  • The test will start exactly at the time mentioned in the Hall Ticket and an announcement to this effect will be made by the invigilator.
  • The candidate must sign in the Attendance Sheet at the appropriate place and affix the Left Index Finger impression against the appropriate column of the attendance sheet. Failure to comply with this requirement will lead to the annulling of his / her candidature without any prior intimation.

For those who are unable to appear on the scheduled date of examination for any reason, re-examination shall NOT be held by the JIPMER under any circumstances.

  • Hall Ticket is issued subject to the condition that if ineligibility is detected at any stage, the candidature will be cancelled.
  • Once inside the Examination Centre / Premises, all candidates will be under surveillance and their activities will be monitored. Hence, candidates are advised NOT to indulge into any unlawful activities which will invite disqualification and legal actions.

Percentile Score Calculation:

Percentile score of each candidate will reflect the proportion of candidates who have scored below that candidate in the Entrance examination

Formula:

No. of Candidates from the group with aggregate mark less than a candidate x 100 /No. of Candidates appeared in the Entrance Examination.

 

Tie-Breaking Resolution:

In case of a tie, the order of deciding higher rank/merit would be in the following order:

  • Preference will be given to the higher Percentile in Biology
  • Preference will be given to the higher Percentile in Chemistry
  • Preference will be given to the higher Percentile in Physics
  • Preference will be given to the higher Percentile in the English Language
  • Preference will be given to the higher Percentile in Logical and Quantitative Reasoning
  • Then, Seniority by age.

Admission Counselling

JIPMER Entrance Exam Counselling Procedure 2021:  The JIPMER Entrance Exam Counselling Procedure 2021 will begin after the JIPMER Entrance Exam 2021 result is declared.

The Counselling Procedure for the BSc. courses will be based on the Candidates Rank and Score in JIPMER Entrance Exam 2021 and their respective category.

The Counselling Procedure will be conducted completely online and the Eligible Candidates will have to register and login online on the portal for participating in the Counselling Procedure.

The JIPMER Entrance Exam Counselling Procedure 2021 will be conducted as follows in detail:

  • The Counselling Procedure will be conducted online on the JIPMER Official Website: www.jipmer.edu.in.
  • The Procedure will include a Mock Counselling then a First actual counselling.
  • Each Eligible Candidate will have to register online and login on the JIPMER BSc. Portal for Counselling.
  • Candidates will have to upload the required documents on the portal.
  • After uploading the certificates and documents the candidates will have to fill in their choice preferences. A Candidate will be allowed to fill a maximum of 12 Courses in choices.
  • After this process the certificates of the candidates will be verified by the authorities.
  • Mock Counselling: The students will be allotted seats depending on the category wise merit rank order and the choice of courses selected. The seat allotted in the mock counselling round is the seat which a candidate is likely to get in the actual counselling round.
  • Locking Final Choice of preferences: After the Mock Counselling the candidates will have to finally lock their choice of preferences for the actual counselling round. Once the candidates have locked their choices then they cannot edit the same in future.
  • First Online Counselling/Seat Allotment: The seat allocation will be done as per the schedule in order of category-based merit, the order of choices filled by candidates, The available seat of the highest preferred course will be allotted to the candidate as per category based merit list and Roster Point reservation.
  • Acceptance of the allotted seat: Candidates who are allotted seats in the First Counselling Round will have an option to Accept the seat allocated and complete the remaining admission formalities. There is no option of refusing the seat allotted and if the candidate fails to accept the seat allotted in the specified schedule of time then the seat allocation will be fortified and the candidate will not be allowed to participate in any subsequent rounds of counselling.
  • Finally, the candidates who have accepted the seat allotted to them will have to report at JIPMER for completing the remaining admission formalities.

After the JIPMER Entrance Exam Counselling 2021 is completed and the admissions to the various BSc. courses at JIPMER are over, the classes for the new session of First year will begin as per the schedule declared by JIPMER.
